Frequently Asked Questions

Where does all the money go?

Alpha Epsilon Pi brothers in chapters around the world raise money contributing to the Repair the World Fund, the philanthropic arm of The Alpha Epsilon Pi Foundation. The funds are then divided equally among our current Official Philanthropy Beneficiaries.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes! There are two ways to make tax-deductible donations for the Official Philanthropy Program.

  • Every chapter has their own individual page here on our AEPi Gives Back website. If you are looking to make a donation in the name of a chapter, find their page using the drop-down at the top of the page. All donations made here on our philanthropy website are tax-deductible.

  • Checks made out to The Alpha Epsilon Pi Foundation or The Alpha Epsilon Pi Foundation of Canada the with the chapter name in the memo line can be sent to Official Philanthropy Program, 8815 Wesleyan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268.

Are donations to chapters themselves tax-deductible?

No. Our chapters are unincorporated associations and are not set up to receive tax-deductible philanthropic donations. By raising money together through the Official Philanthropy Program, our chapters are able to use the 501(c)(3) status of The Alpha Epsilon Pi Foundation and the Registered Charity status of The Alpha Epsilon Pi Foundation of Canada to accept tax-deductible donations.

Why do AEPi’s Philanthropy Partners keep changing?

Our philanthropic mission parallels the Jewish ideal of Tikkun Olam — repairing the world. By donating to multiple organizations at once for a certain amount of time, we are truly able to spread our financial assistance across the global Jewish community.

How do I obtain another copy of the tax receipt for my donation?

All donors will receive a tax receipt shortly after their donation is made. However, if you need another copy, please contact Moshe Lencer, the Director of Jewish Enrichment & Education, at [email protected].

How can my organization become an Official Philanthropy Beneficiary?

Our program currently donates to the organizations listed in the Beneficiaries section of our AEPi Gives Back website. New organizations will be considered every year. The 3 new organizations will be voted on by the undergraduate body. To apply for consideration as one of our future beneficiaries, complete the application available for download at the bottom of the Beneficiaries page and sent it to Director of Jewish Enrichment & Education Moshe Lencer at [email protected].

How were the Official Philanthropy Beneficiaries selected?

The current beneficiaries were chosen by a large focus group of undergraduate brothers out of a selection of all organizations who applies.
